Something not working, or an idea to share? The most common topics are below. If you can't find your answer, write to us.
Write to us
Send an email with a question, an idea or a bug report. Odometer is built by one developer, so your message goes straight to the person who makes the app.
Send an email[email protected]
When reporting a bug, these help us fix it faster:
- Your phone model and operating system version
- What you did, what happened and what you expected
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you have one
Common topics
- Deleting your account
- Managing or cancelling your subscription
- Restoring purchases
- Drives aren't recording on their own
- Moving to a new phone
- Getting a copy of your data
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile and tap Delete my account. Your account and all your cloud data (backup, profile, leaderboard entries, friendships, shared drives, photos, push tokens) are permanently deleted. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from your account's email address with the subject “Account deletion”, and we'll complete the request within 30 days.
- Records on your phone are deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription; cancel it separately in the App Store or Google Play.
- To make sure a referral reward isn't granted to the same person twice, a one-way hash of your account ID is kept; the raw ID or email is not stored.
Managing or cancelling your subscription
An Odometer Pro subscription belongs to your App Store or Google Play account and is managed there. In the app, Manage subscription on the Pro screen takes you straight to the right page.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Odometer.
- Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Odometer.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and Pro stays on until then. Refunds are handled under Apple's or Google's own refund policies.
Restoring purchases
Tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen while signed in to the App Store or Google Play account you bought with.
If you are signed in to an Odometer account, Pro is tied to that account: it is on for any phone you sign in to with it, even across iPhone and Android.
Drives aren't recording on their own
Automatic recording needs your phone's motion sensor and background location. Check these in order:
- Is the Automatic tracking switch on the Drives screen turned on?
- Location permission: “Always” on iPhone, “Allow all the time” on Android.
- Motion permission: “Motion & Fitness” on iPhone, “Physical activity” on Android.
- Battery on Android: Settings → Apps → Odometer → Battery → “Unrestricted”. Some manufacturers' battery savers close apps running in the background.
If a drive is missed, you can start one by hand. If it keeps happening, write to us with your phone model.
Moving to a new phone
While you're signed in, your cars, drives, and fuel, service and expense records are backed up to your account. On the new phone, sign in with the same account and restore from the Profile and backup screen.
If you used the app without an account, your records live only on the old phone; open an account there and back up before you switch.
Getting a copy of your data
